Archina Puts on Strong Performance as the Troy Haymakers Take the Win Over the Waterford Nationals. Antonio Archina collected three hits in three at bats, as the Troy Haymakers defeated the Waterford Nationals 7-3 on Thursday at Kelts Stadium. Archina hit a solo home run in the second inning, and singled in the third and fifth innings. The Nationals got on the board in the top of the first inning, using singles by Ben Catrambone and Jeffery Sterns, three hit batsmen and a sacrifice fly to piece together three runs. Nick Plue's solo home run in the bottom of the first made the score 3-1 Nats. Troy tied the game in the bottom of the second on Archina's solo home run several walks, which scored Plue. In the bottom of the fourth, the Haymakers took the lead 5-3 on Zach Place's 2-run homer, then made it 7-3 in the 5th on a 2-run homer by Colin Lynch. Tyler Scorzelli earned the win for the Haymakers. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking one. Adam Winchell took the loss for Waterford Nationals. The starting pitcher went three innings, giving up three runs on three hits, striking out two and walking four.
