| A's lefthander Chris Salamida tossed a 3-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts to lead the Albany Athletics to a 3-0 victory over second place Waterford Nationals and in the process Albany clinches its 13th regular season championship and the top seed for the league playoffs. It was the A's 17th consecutive league win to open the season as well. Salamida only allowed one runner to reach second base in the shutout. Meanwhile Nate Novak drove in runs in the 1st and 5th innings on RBI singles and finished with 3 singles on the day. RJ Pingitore singled twice and drove in the final run in the 6th. Nick Hansen, Greg Sulz, and Tim Carroll each hit two singles in the game. |
