GAME SUMMARY
Chris Salamida hit a 2nd inning grand slam to spark the Albany Athletics to their 7th Twilight League Championship defeating the Waterford Nationals 8-2 in Game #3 of the Albany Twilight League Championship Series at Bleecker Stadium.  Lefthander JJ Pearsall hurled a complete game scattering five hits, giving up 2 earned runs, and striking out 10 batters in the game. Playoff MVP RJ Pingitore sparked a 3rd inning rally with a 2-run double to extend a 4-2 lead to 8-2 at the time. Pingitore finished 10-for-19 in the A's five postseason games and tallied 9 RBI and 3 runs.     The A's swept both the semifinal series and the Championship Series outscoring their opponents 52-9 altogether.  Their 7th League Championship ranks 3rd most all-time in the league's 86 year history.  The A's last won the League playoffs in 2012 when they strung together a league record four titles in a row.     Waterford took a 1-0 lead tonight on Chris Carbone's RBI single in the first inning. However the A's responded with Salamida's grand slam. Waterford cut the lead to 4-2 on Carbone's second RBI single in the 3rd inning but that was all their offense.  Both Carbone and Ivan Plata each finished with 2 hits apiece. It was the third time the two teams met in the Twilight League Championship Series.
