GAME SUMMARY

Waterford Nationals took the lead late in the game in a 3-2 victory over Capital city kings on Friday.  The game was tied at two with Waterford Nationals  batting in the top of the eighth when Chris Carbone singled on a 1-2 count, scoring Ivan Plata who had led off with a single Nick Thomas was gunned down at the plate on the same play.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Waterford Nationals  pitchers struck out nine, while Anthony  Scaccia  sat down 15 Nationals going the full 8 innings taking the loss.  Nationals Tim Murdick came in the game with the bases loaded and no outs in the 2nd inning with the score tied 2-2  and pitched 3 scorless innings striking out 7. Ryan Ensel  pitched a perfect 6th 7th and 8th for the victory. 

Waterford Nationals  t got on the board in the first inning when Dan Bergami singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Capital city kings knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the second inning.  Capital city kings scored one run when Sean Geisel singled.

Anthony  Germenerio  was on the hill for Waterford Nationals Twilight. He allowed four hits and two runs over one inning, striking out one.

Scaccia  was on the mound for Capital city kings. He allowed eight hits and three runs over eight innings, striking out 15 and walking one.

Waterford Nationals Twilight collected 9 hits on the day.  Carbone and Nick Thomas each managed multiple hits for Waterford Nationals Twilight.  Thomas and Carbone each collected two hits to lead Waterford Nationals Twilight.  Waterford Nationals Twilight was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.
