A's righthander Justin Brantley hurled a complete game six-hitter and struck out 11 to lead the Albany Athletics to a 6-1 win over the Capital City Kings at Buck Ewing Turf Field in Schenectady. Chris Salamida started the scoring with a solo homer in the first inning then Craig Mastroianni smacked a solo shot to lead off the second inning and stake the A's to a 2-0 lead. The A's then tallied four more runs in the inning highlighted by Connor Pingitore's RBI double and Nate Novak and Salamida's RBI singles. Salamida finished with a homer, single and 2 RBI while Greg Sulz singled twice for the A's. Anthony Scaccia drove in Capital City's only run with a sac fly in the second. Bryan Wilgocki and Joe Borowski each singled twice for the Kings. |
