Runs were hard to come by in the Troy Haymakers 3-1 win over the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Gators in Albany Twilight League action at Clifton Commons on Monday. Both teams were strong on the mound, with Troy's Tyler Murray striking out 11 batters, and the Gators' Evan Grimes picking up 9 K's. The two combined for only one walk on the day. The Haymakers were the first to get on the board in the second when Maldonado singled, scoring one run. Dedrick led off the bottom of the second with a double, then scored on Santa Barbara's infield out to tie the game at 1-1. Troy retook the lead in the top of the fifth, with singles by Curry and Burns, then Curry scoring on a wild pitch to make it 2-1. The score went to 3-1 in the 6th when Germain scored on Joly's sacrifice fly. In the bottom of the 7th the Gators got the first two runners on, but Murray finished strong, striking out the last two hitters to seal the win. HAY - Murray and Archina; DiCerbo 2B/1B, Murray 11 Ks.
