GAME SUMMARY
The Albany Athletics pounded out 16 hits and had their greatest offensive output since 2012 defeating the Devil Cats 24-13 in a wild high scoring Albany Twilight League game.    The Devil Cats Robert Fratangelo helped erase a 3-1 deficit with a 2-run double to spark a rally in the third inning and put the Devil Cats ahead 4-3. However the Athletics responded with six runs in the top of the fourth highlighted by RJ Pingitore's 2-run double and Cam Overbaugh's 2-run single making the score 9-4.    With the score 10-4 after the fourth inning, the Athletics struck for four runs in the fifth inning highlighted by a three run home run by Jake Sparks to make it 14-7. The Devil Cats responded with seven of their own runs in the bottom of the fifth to tie the score 14-14. In addition to two outfield errors, the Devil Cats got an RBI double from Quin Barton and RBI singles from Mason Brown and Fratangelo in the inning.    Albany exploded for eight runs in the top of the sixth. Mark Powell singled in a run after two infield errors and later in the inning, Nick Hansen hit a bases clearing double to highlight the inning. A's closer Matt Gonzalez started the sixth inning and threw a perfect 6th and 7th innings striking out all six batters to earn the win.    The Athletics were paced by Overbaugh (doubles, 2 singles, 5 RBI), Powell (2 singles, 2 RBI), Brenden Harris (2 singles), Jared Russell (2 singles, RBI), and Kyle DeCresce (single, double, 3 RBI). The Devil Cats were led by Fratangelo (2 doubles, single, 4 RBI), Liam Gregory (2 singles, RBI) and Joe Peregrim (2 doubles, RBI).    The game saw a combined 37 runs, 30 hits, 14 errors, 6 hit batsman, and 16 walks. It was the most runs scored for the Devil Cats in any game since they entered the league in 2019. The A's, meanwhile, last had a 20+ run offensive explosion on July 24, 2012 with a 27-5 win and a year earlier, a 32-1 win on June 19, 2011.
