| Albany's Tim Carroll recorded a 4-hit, 3 RBI night in his first game this season to lead the A's to a 12-3 victory over the Waterford Nationals (2-2) in a Twilight League game keeping the Athletics (4-0) unbeaten in the first four games of the season. Carroll smacked a solo homer in the 4th inning and RBI single in the 5th to spark the A's (also had an RBI walk) who scored 6 runs in a 2nd inning rally, all with two outs. Anthony Raimo singled twice and doubled while Nick Hansen and Greg Sulz each collected a pair of singles and two RBI each on the night. Athletics righthander Zach Breen twirled a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win which was the fourth straight game A's pitchers have recorded double digit strikeouts. Waterford got a two-run homerun from Mike Santos following an infield error in the inning. |
