GAME SUMMARY |
Nate Novak stroked a solo home run in the 3rd inning and a three-run homer in the fourth inning to lead the Albany Athletics to an 8-2 victory over the Albany Senators in a battle of the top to teams in the league. A's lefthander Chris Salamida hurled a complete game five-hitter, yielded two earned runs, and struck out 11 batters in the game. Salamida also hit a solo homerun in the sixth inning to add to the offense. The Athletics got on the board in the second on Austin Lawrence's RBI single, then Novak's homer made it 2-0. However the Senators tied it in the bottom of the third when John Hogg singled in two runs. The Athletics responded with Novak's second homer to build a 5-2 lead and went on to extend the lead later in the game. Eric Mueller led the Senators with three singles in the game. |
