| A's pitchers Zach Breen (4 IP, 2 H, 5 K, Win), Ryan Lambert (2 IP, 1 H, 5 K) and Joe Pokrentowski (1 IP, 0 H, 1 K, Save) combined for an 11 strikeout, three-hitter to lead the Albany Athletics to a 2-0 victory over the Albany Blue Jays. With the win, the A's not only clinch their 20th straight playoff berth but also extend their league record win streak to 40 consecutive games . The Athletics got all the scoring it needed in the second inning when Cam Overbaugh singled in two runs. Nate Novak contributed two hits for the A's. For the Blue Jays, Paul Fernandez hit a leadoff triple in the 6th inning but A's righthander Ryan Lambert retired the next three hitters to end the threat. |
