| A's lefthander JJ Pearsall hurled a complete game shutout to lead the Athletics to a series clinching 10-0 victory over the Troy Haymakers in game two of their best-of-three semifinals. Pearsall fanned five batters and only gave up two hits in the game. Meanwhile Dylan Sprague connected for a 2-run homer in the second inning to stake the A's to a 2-0 lead. In the third, Chris Salamida hit a solo homer and Sprague followed with an RBI double to build a 4-0 lead. Dan Barbero hit a fourth inning two-run single and Greg Sulz finished the scoring with an RBI triple in the sixth inning. The Athetics sweep Troy and advance to their 13th consecutive Twilight League Championship Series. |
