| Chris Salamida struck out 10 batters, gave up 4 hits and just 1 earned run to lead the Albany Athletics to a sweep of the Legends Hawks in the best of three Twilight League Semifinals at Bleecker Stadium. With a 12-2 win the A's advance to their 12th consecutive League Final against the Waterford Nationals/Albany Senators winner (series tied 1-1). Greg Sulz highlighted a five run first inning with a 2-run single and later added a single. Cam Overbaugh singled four times and drove in three runs while Nate Novak doubled and singled in a run in the win. RJ Pingitore, who added an RBI single in the big first inning, drove in two runs in a 6th inning rally and added another single for a 3-for-5 night. THe Hawks got their runs in the first on a lead off double by NIck Papas, then an RBI double by Max Keado. Keado scored two batters later on an infield error. THe Hawks had won 10 of its last 11 regular season games to sneak into the playoffs as the #4 seed and finish the year 13-13 while the Athletics improve to 32-5-1 overall. |
