| For the second straight night the Albany Athletics offense exploded for double digit runs recording a 17-3 victory over the Waterford Nationals in game #2 of the Albany Twilight League Championship Series at Bleecker Stadium. Waterford's Scott Rader singled in a run in the bottom of the first to stake the Nationals to a 2-1 lead but it was short lived as the A's rallied for 6 runs in the 2nd highlighted by Dylan Sprague's 2-run single and Craig Mastroianni's RBI single. In the 7th, the A's turned an 8-3 lead into a route when they rallied for 9 runs sparked by RJ Pingitore's 2-run double and Dan Barbero's 2-run double. Pingitore finished with 2 singles and a double while Barbero doubled twice in the game. Mastroianni also finished with two singles. A's Righthander Nick Bird threw a complete game striking out 6 batters and scattering 6 hits for the win. Anthony Eaton singled twice for the Nationals. |
