The Albany AThletics knocked out 12 hits and capitalized on five errors to win the battle between two 8-0 teams and come away with a 12-6 victory over the Capital City Kings. The win extends the A's league win streak to 33 consecutive games dating back to 2019. Cam Overbaugh doubled in two runs in a four-run 4th inning and also collected a single and scored four times to lead the offense. Kyle DeCresce singled twice and Nick Hansen hit a two-run double and single for the A's. Mark Powell knocked in three runs on a single and two sacrifice flies. Albany got 6 innings from Chris Salamida who gave up 4 earned runs, 7 hits and struck out 13 batters for the win. Capital City erased an early 2-0 deficit when James Murphy hit a solo home run and Pat Henning singled in a run in the 2nd inning. Ted Cillis hit a two-run home run in the 4th to pull the Kings to 7-4 but they never got any closer. Albany (Haack) and Capital City (Tholl) were each leading their divisions respectively before the night with 8-0 records. |
