GAME SUMMARY
A's lefthander Bryan Carr tossed a two-hit complete game shutout striking out 9 batters to lead the Albany Athletics to a 5-0 victory in the Twilight League's season finale over the Capital City Kings. It was the 9th straight league win for the A's and 22nd in the league regular season which also eliminated the Kings from the playoffs.    Albany got on the board in the first inning on an RBI walk by RJ Pingitore, then in the second inning got an RBI double from Cam Overbaugh who then stole third and scored on a wild pitch to help the A's build a 3-0 lead. After a sac fly by Craig Mastroianni, Overbaugh then singled, stole second, advanced to third on a balk then scored on a wild pitch to finish 2-for-4 with two singles, two runs scored and two stolen bases.    Capital City had its best opportunity in the sixth inning when it loaded the bases on a two-out single by Joe Borowski followed by two walks but Carr induced a ground out to end the inning.    The Athletics finish the regular season with one of the best regular season records in league history at 22-2. Prior to this year's team, just  five teams had won 20+ games and yielded just two losses in regular season play in the 88-year history including the Roxy's Cleaners (1959), Sons of Italy (1966), Albany Senators (2001), and two Albany Athletics teams (2012, 2013). The Athletics also finished with 190 runs scored in its 24 games--second to the 2012 Athletics who set a wood bat record with 201 runs that year.    Albany will enter the playoffs as the #1 seed for the 11th time in the last 13 years. The pairings and schedule will be announced Sunday night.
