GAME SUMMARY
A's Lefthander JJ Pearsall threw a 2-hitter before yielding to closer Chris Salamida in the 7th inning to save the game and lead the Albany Athletics to a 2-0 win in game 3 of their best of five championship series at Bleecker Stadium.   The win gives the A's a sweep of the Nationals in the championship series for the second straight year and gives them their 8th League title since 2006, which is now second all-time in the League's 86 year history.    Pearsall didn't allow a runner to second base and had a no-hitter broken up in the 5th on a clean single. Then Jim Gaudet of the Nationals bunted his way on base to lead off the 7th and force Salamida into the game with no outs. Salamida retired the three batters he faced, two on strikeouts, while Pearsall fanned five over six innings for the win.     Salamida was named Playoff MVP for a 2-0 record, 2 complete games, 1 shutouts, 1 ER a save, 21 strikeouts in 15 innings and also went 3-for-12 with 3 runs and 3 RBI in five playoff games.     The Athletics meanwhile got their runs in the first inning when Cameron Overbaugh stole third and scored on a throwing error.  Two batters later, RJ Pingitore singled home Dan Barbero for the second run. Overbaugh, who went 9-for-17 in five playoff games, finished with two singles as did Pat Landers to Lead the A's offense.     Manager Joe Altieri moved into a tie for first all-time with Tim Lane for most managerial championships with eight.  The A's finish 38-7-1 overall and Waterford, regular season runner up, finished 19-13 overall.
